1. About us and this policy

1.1 Credit Busters (“Credit Busters”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides No Win, No Fee credit repair services and operates under Australian Credit Licence 564856. This policy describes how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal and credit-related information, and how to contact us about it.

2. The information we collect

  • Identity information, such as your name, date of birth and proof-of-identity details.
  • Contact information, such as your email address, phone number and postcode.
  • Address information, including your full current address and your address history.
  • Credit-related information, such as the listings on your credit file (defaults, credit enquiries, repayment history information and judgments) and information from your consumer credit report.
  • The reasons for your credit listings and all associated information that may assist in understanding and removing a listing, and in correctly capturing your full profile so we can understand your situation.
  • Account and transaction information, such as your login details and the payment-authorisation details you provide so a success fee can be charged if a listing is removed.
  • Technical information, such as your IP address and basic device and usage data when you use our website.

3. Credit information

3.1 To assess and work on your file, we collect and handle credit-related information. With your consent, we may obtain your consumer credit report and related information from credit reporting bodies (for example Equifax, illion and Experian) and from credit providers. We use this information only for the purpose of assessing and pursuing the removal of listings on your behalf, or building your profile to fully understand your situation and circumstances in our dealings with you.

4. How we collect it

4.1 We collect most information directly from you when you complete the online check, create an account or correspond with us. Where you authorise us to act, we may also collect information from credit reporting bodies and credit providers.

5. Why we collect, use and disclose it

We collect, hold, use and disclose your information to:

  • verify your identity and assess your eligibility;
  • investigate, challenge and seek the removal of listings on your credit file;
  • communicate with you about your matter and provide your online account;
  • process the success fee if and when a listing is removed;
  • build and maintain your profile so we can understand and act on your situation.

We may disclose your information to:

  • credit reporting bodies and credit providers, where you have authorised us to act for you, and our other bodies corporate;
  • our trusted service providers (for example IT hosting, payment processing and identity verification), who are required to protect your information;
  • others where required or authorised by law.

6. Direct marketing

6.1 We may use your contact details to tell you about our services. You can opt out of marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our messages or by contacting us, and we will stop. You cannot opt out of communications relating to your engagement while you have an unresolved open case with us. We do not sell your personal information.

7. Disclosure outside Australia

7.1 Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled with appropriate protections.

8. How we protect your information

8.1 We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including access controls, encryption in transit and secure hosting. We retain information only for as long as we need it, or are required to or are allowed to keep it by law, and then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
